I won’t say much about me, because frankly, it’s not about me. It’s about you, right? I will say that I was bitten by the “idea bug” at an early age and for years, I thought there was something wrong with me. I had so many ideas that I was excited about, and they all completely captured my attention–for about 5 minutes. In my neighborhood, ideas were like buses. There’s was always another one coming around the corner….

A few short years ago, I found out that I’m a “scanner,” Barbara Sher’s term for a person who has so many ideas, interests, and curiosities, they often feel paralyzed, not knowing which idea to focus on. For a scanner, choosing one idea over another is like deciding which one of your children you’re going to feed today. Difficult, right?

Having been a long-time subscriber to Dr. Valerie Young’s Changing Course Newsletter, I jumped at the opportunity to be trained by one of the most creative “outside the job box” career experts around. I thought, “Wait a minute.
